HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Drivers who use Madison Street will need a different route next week as Hackettstown prepares to finish a road improvement project.
Milling is scheduled Monday through Wednesday along the street, from Warren Street to Valentine Street. Paving is expected Thursday and Friday, according to the town.
Madison Street will be closed to through traffic during the work, and residents should avoid parking along the project limits from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Police will be stationed to help drivers follow a detour.
Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Officials cautioned that the schedule is "subject to change" because of weather or unexpected conditions.
For residents, planning ahead could prevent a frustrating start to the day.
