Hackettstown's contractor was scheduled to begin the final stretch of the Madison Street Improvements Project yesterday. Milling is expected to continue through Wednesday, followed by paving Thursday and Friday.

Crews are working along the full length of Madison Street, moving from Warren Street toward Valentine Street. The road will remain closed to through traffic during construction, with police helping motorists follow a detour.

Parking is prohibited within the work zone from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday. Work is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

The curb, sidewalk and ADA-compliant curb-ramp portions of the project are already complete. Weather or unforeseen conditions could alter the remaining schedule.
