NJ Child Predator Arrested Months After Police Tip Off, Officials Say

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A Warren County man has been arrested two months after police learned he was sexually abusing a minor, officials said.

David L. James, 56, of Blairstown, faces several sexual abuse charges following a months-long investigation by prosecutors.

According to officials, on July 3, the Phillipsburg Police Department was tipped off about a child being sexually assaulted.

An investigation was launched, and authorities determined that James was responsible for the assault, officials said. Prosecutors added that James and the victim knew each other, but did not offer specifics on their dynamic.

Nearly two months later, on Friday, James was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.

If convicted, James faces a maximum of life in prison for the aggravated sexual assault charge alone.
