HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Weekend Oktoberfest plans have changed in Hackettstown: The street fair is canceled, though most festivities at individual businesses are still expected as planned.
The Hackettstown Business Improvement District's weather update, posted by the town, cites the forecast Nor'easter and expected high winds. The BID said it would be unsafe to set up nearly 100 vendors and temporary structures in the streets.
"We are so disappointed, but we always prioritize safety," the update says.
The BID said outdoor activities will be adjusted and festivities will also take place indoors. It asked visitors to watch for further weather-related updates from individual businesses and said it would release a revised schedule showing when and where activities are planned.
The town also canceled the Oktoberfest road closures planned for Saturday and Sunday. Check for the revised schedule before heading out.
