WARREN COUNTY, NJ — Several people were hurt overnight after a major accident took place on I-80 in Warren County, officials said.
On Monday, just before 12:30 a.m., the Allamuchy Fire Department was called to mile marker 22.2 on I-80 East on reports of a multi-tractor-trailer and car accident, officials said.
Authorities arrived to find one tractor-trailer had rolled over, spilling its cargo all over the road and destroying part of a guardrail. Two other tractor-trailers were involved, along with two other damaged passenger cars, according to the Allamuchy Fire Department.
Several people were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Updates on their statuses were not available Monday morning.
Authorities also stopped a "minor fluid leak" following the collision.
Two lanes were closed in the area for most of Monday morning while crews cleaned up the rolled trailer and its contents and replaced the guardrail.
It's not clear what caused the crash or if any charges have been filed.
