The Washington Township Historical Society’s annual historic house tour, dubbed “Autumn in the Valley,” is set for Saturday, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tour will take attendees through the Miller’s House on East Mill Road, which now sits as a commercial property across the street from the Obadiah LaTourette Grist and Saw Mill.
Next up is the apartment of the current owners and local interior designers of Cottage Treasures in downtown Long Valley. The building was at one time Welsh’s Farm and later Swackhammer’s Garage. Those names are associated with the original settlers of Middle Valley ad German Valley.
