Body Found In North Jersey Pond ID'd By Police

The matter remains under investigation.

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — The dead body that was pulled from a Warren County pond last week has been identified, state police say.

On Thursday, around 7:15 p.m., authorities were called to Allamuchy Pond in Allamuchy Township on reports of a dead body.

Troopers pulled the man's body from the water and initially withheld his identity pending the notification of next of kin.

On Monday, police announced that the person found in the pond was Dominic Gowdie, 32, of Hackettstown.

Authorities have not released a cause of death, and the matter is still under investigation.
