There are things to celebrate every day of the week, it seems, but Hackettstown police want to keep the no-incident "streak" alive.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — The weather is warm, and the pandemic may have everyone a little stir crazy, but Hackettstown police are warning residents about the possible pitfalls of celebrating National Nude Day literally.
"Yes, we know it's July 14 and that means it's National Nude Day," police wrote on their social media. "We want to remind people, it's illegal to walk around in your birthday suit in public."
Similar to National Doughnut Day or National Pizza Day, the origins of National Nude Day are murky.

Liz Egger, author of "The Complete Guide To Nudism, Naturism & Nudists," told Inquisitr that the best way to celebrate National Nude Day is by doing so with a friend or family member — but to begin by easing into it by spending a few hours naked while at home.
That is fine with the Hackettstown police, as long as it doesn't extend outdoors.
"We haven't had any incidents in the past, so let's keep this 'streak' going," they said.
