Clear Hoops for Snow Removal, Town Says

According to a local ordinance, portable basketball hoops must be moved from the roads and curb areas in Hackettstown during the winter season to allow for snow removal apparatus to work properly.

The ordinance reminder, which is posted on the town's website, says the "Department of Public Works is asking residents to remove the portable basketball hoops from the street or sidewalk in front of your house to allow snowplows, salt trucks and front-end loaders to operate without obstruction."

If the basketball hoop is in the way when the snow removal apparatus comes by, the ordinance said, the town will remove it.
