Conforti, Sheldon Re-Elected to Council Seats

Longtime Councilman William Conforti and Councilman Scott Sheldon beat challenging Democrats Anthony Olivo and Mary Beth Maciag in Tuesday's general election, being re-elected to three-year seats on the Hackettstown governing body.

There were 6,157 Hackettstown voters who hit the polls Tuesday, despite nearly 1,000 still without power due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy that struck on Oct. 29.

Here's how they voted:

At the Freeholder level, Warren County chose Republican Edward J. Smith over Democrat Thomas E. Palmieri by a tally of 23,233 to 15,191.

The county at large voted 24,695 to 17,869 in favor of Mitt Romney over President Barack Obama.
