Couple Killed In North Jersey House Fire

Police said the home was "fully engulfed in flames" when troopers arrived.

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — Two people were killed in a fire this week in Warren County, according to police.

On Tuesday, just after 12:30 a.m., police were called to a Mohican Road home in Blairstown Township on reports of a fire.

Authorities discovered the home was "fully engulfed in flames."

Police said two people were in the home at the time of the fire and did not make it out alive.

The pair was identified as Paul and Sheila Garry Avery on a family member's social media post.

It's not clear at this time what started the blaze. The matter is still under investigation.
