Driver in Head-On Crash Now Faces Drug Charges

Michael Dill, 23, was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the time of Sunday's crash, police said.

An Independence Township man involved in a head-on crash last weekend faces additional charges after further investigation revealed he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Hackettstown Police said.

Michael Dill, 23, was charged Tuesday with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court appearance.

Dill had previously received a summons for careless driving for his role in a head-on crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Route 517 and Old Allamuchy Road.

Sgt. Darren Tynan said a further investigation revealed Dill was in possession of a multi-colored glass pipe containing suspected marijuana and a metal marijuana grinder.
