Fireplace Fire Spreads To Hackettstown Home

Three firefighters were treated for minor injuries during the Sunday fire.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A fireplace fire spread to a Hackettstown home on Sunday afternoon, Hackettstown police said.

The fire started before 2 p.m. on Sunday, when a Countyside Drive homeowner started a fire in the fireplace. That fire spread to the building itself and the chimney.

Three firefighters were injured in the course of putting out the flames, police said. They were taken to Hackettstown Medical Center and have since been released.
