Former 'Most Wanted' Fugitive Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

Hackettstown man was arrested in Chester in November 2012 for being fugitive out of Hunterdon County.

A Hackettstown man once listed as one of Hunterdon County’s most wanted was arrested again Monday, this time on a traffic warrant out of Morris County.

David Ingersoll, 43, was arrested by Hackettstown police for a $530 outstanding municipal court traffic warrant from Kinnelon, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

In Nov. 2012, Ingersoll was arrested in Chester after the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office had him on their most wanted list for multiple drug warrants.

Chester Township Det. Brian Gill and Cpl. DaCunza found Ingersoll on Main Street in Chester Borough that morning and apprehended him without incident just after 8 a.m.

Ingersoll was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, specifically Suboxone, a schedule II prescription drug used to treat opiate addiction, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns said. Ingersoll did not possess a valid prescription for the drug, Kearns said.

At the time, Ingersoll had warrants for his arrest out of Newark and Union County, in addition to various traffic warrants.
