Green Fest and Family Fun Day Set to Take Over Rock Spring Park Saturday

Seventy-eight degrees and sunny in the middle of August sounds like a dream, but it looks more like a reality for Washington Township’s third annual Green Festival and Family Fun Day.

The event is set for Saturday, August 16 at Rock Spring Park, with an old-time baseball game to be played at 11:30 a.m. The festival – with 45 vendors – will officially begin at noon and end at 4 p.m.

The Green Festival is sponsored by the Washington Township Green Team and Family Fun Day is sponsored by the Washington Township Recreation Advisory Committee. Both events take place simultaneously.

Rizzo’s Reptiles, an annual staple at the Washington Township Library, will perform from noon to 1 p.m., followed by a Grand Falloons performance at 2 p.m.

A giant, inflatable obstacle course will also be set up for kids of all ages. Hamburgers, hot dogs, corn and bags of popcorn will be available for $1 each. Food is being donated by the Chester Meat Market and Ort Farms.

In lieu of the cost for food, residents can bring items to donate to the Washington Township Food Pantry.
