2020-06 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN HACKETTSTOWN, COUNTY OF WARREN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, REPEALING SECTIONS 606 AND 607 OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE OF THE HACKETTSTOWN AND ENACTING SECTION 606 AND 607 OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF HACKETTSTOWN TO ADDRESS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FAIR SHARE HOUSING ACT AND THE UNIFORM HOUSING AFFORDABILITY CONTROLS REGARDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE TOWN’S AFFORDABLE HOUSING OBLIGATIONS.

This Ordinance repeals Sections 606 and 607 of the Town’s Land Development Ordinance and enacts Sections 606 and 607 to address the Town’s constitutional obligation to provide for its fair share of low- and moderate-income housing; to provide assurance that low- and moderate-income units are created with controls on affordability over time and that low- and moderate-income households shall occupy those units; and include monitoring requirements pursuant to the Town’s January 12, 2017 Settlement Agreement between the Town and Fair Share Housing Center. Said Ordinance will be considered for hearing and final passage at a meeting of the Town Council and Mayor to held via remote access on June 25, 2020 at 7:00P.M. A copy of the entire Ordinance may be accessed on the Town’s website: www.hackettstown.net or from obtaining a copy from the Municipal Clerk at the Town Municipal Building located at 215 W. Stiger Street, Hackettstown, NJ during business hours up to and including the time when the Town Council and Mayor shall further consider this ordinance for final passage.
