Hackettstown Police Department Hosts National Night Out, Aug. 3

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Local businesses and organizations are teaming up with the Hackettstown Police Department to celebrate this year’s National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 3.

National Night Out events around the country are making a comeback after many weren’t held in 2020 because of COVID-19, with a fun lineup that has come together for Hackettstown’s celebration.

Hackettstown Recreation, Atlantic Health System’s Hackettstown Medical Center, Mars Wrigley and Hackettstown’s Business Improvement District (BID), have partnered up with events, food, activities and more that night, from 6 to 10 p.m.

National Night Out in Hackettstown will be happening at the Pool Field adjacent to Hackettstown’s Community Pool on 499 Warren Street.

Among the things in store for that night are:

  • Free swimming at Hackettstown Community Pool from 6 to 10 p.m.
  • Free candy giveaway, while supplies last, with representatives of Mars Wrigley
  • Free water giveaway will be happening, thanks to Wawa of Hackettstown, while supplies last
  • Free wings will be served up from Marley’s Gotham Grill Wings & Things Food Truck, while supplies last
  • Applebee’s Grill & Bar of Hackettstown will be dishing up free food too, while supplies last
  • Patrolman Chris Laver and K9 Edo will do a K9 demonstration
  • Hackettstown Fire Department and First Aid and Rescue Squad will have vehicles on display
  • Hackettstown Stormwater Management, Hackettstown BID and Hackettstown Medical Center will all have booths at the event.
  • At dusk, there will be a free screening of "Onward," sponsored by Hackettstown Recreation Commission and Hackettstown BID. Those who want to watch the movie should bring their blankets and chairs.
