Hackettstown Police Officers Celebrated At Annual Awards Ceremony
Officers received awards on June 11 for exceptional duty, life-saving actions, exceptional duty and outstanding service.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — The Hackettstown Police Department recognized several officers during an awards ceremony last week.
Officers received awards on June 11 for exceptional duty, life-saving actions, exceptional duty and outstanding service.

Exceptional Duty Awards
The Hackettstown Police Department recognized Detective Jeffrey Anderson, Detective Juan Ocampo, Officer Holly Whitmore, and Chief Aaron Perkins with Exceptional Duty Awards for their actions during an April 4, 2025, incident involving a reported armed person near the hospital.

The officers responded to the scene, helped secure the area, and assisted in the arrest.
Life-Saving Award
The department recognized Whitmore for her actions on Oct. 10, 2025, when she responded to a report of a person who had been run over by a train car.
Whitmore provided lifesaving care until EMS arrived at the scene.
Officer Alex DiCairano and Officer Anthony Cossio were also given the award for their actions helping an unconscious person by performing CPR and using an external defibrillator on June 15, 2025.
Officer of the Year Award
Detective Juan Ocampo was recognized with the Chief’s Award, the department’s Officer of the Year honor.
The department praised Ocampo’s work last year and handling several cases as he served as the department’s sole detective for several months.
In addition, the department noted his hard work all while a new addition to his family.
