Hurricane Closes Centenary Monday and Tuesday

Wednesday's scheduling to be decided as days go on.

Centenary College has cancelled all classes and closed administrative offices for Monday and Tuesday due to the expected impact of Hurricane Sandy, according to the school's website.

Leonard Kunz, Assistant Dean for Campus Safety and Director of Security, said in an announcement:

In an effort to assist everyone in preparing for the approaching storm, Dr. Lewthwaite has cancelled all classes for Monday and Tuesday, October 29 & 30,  at all locations. This decision was made based upon the information forwarded by the National Weather Center, the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, The Office of the Governor, and is consistent with that of many other institutions. Plans are in place and preparation continues to accommodate all resident students during the storm. Centenary College anticipates to resume full activities on Wednesday but that could change with the unpredictability of the storm. Any changes will be communicated via all means available. Everyone is encouraged to take storm preparations seriously and follow all proper safety measures.
