Just 1 Road Closed, Outages Dwindle Wednesday
Hurricane Sandy's impact nearly erased in Hackettstown.

Outages are below 500 residences in Hackettstown for the first time since October and only one road is impassable as of noon Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Hurricane Sandy devastated the area on Oct. 29, forcing widespread outages affecting more than 4,000 residences and businesses in Hackettstown. As the clean-up process forged on, power, business and gas came back to town in the days that followed.
Hackettstown Police are reporting West Plane Street is closed between Jefferson Street and Monroe Street due to downed trees and downed telephone poles.
There are still low hanging wires in the streets throughout town, police said.

Just after noon, there were 485 residences without power in Hackettstown, a tenth of the mark when it reached it's highest point.
Trinity Church on Main Street will continue to be used as an overnight shelter for residents from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.
