Man Gave Teen Boy Alcohol, Gifts in Exchange for Sex, Prosecutor Says

Phillipsburg resident charged with sexual assault by Morris County authorities for alleged crimes in the 1990s.

A Philipsburg man has been charged with second-degree sexual assault for crimes that allegedly took place in the late 1990s, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced Wednesday.

Barry Miller, 42, is accused of engaging in “multiple acts of oral penetration” between February 1996 and February 1998 with a teen boy, Knapp said. The alleged victim was between the ages of 13 and 14-years-old during that time.

The alleged victim told authorities he would be given alcohol and gifts in exchange for the sexual favors, Knapp said.
