The National Weather Service said there is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms on Saturday, with possible damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
The Weather Channel was more definitive, saying severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds will take aim at parts of the Great Lakes on Friday. A few of those storms may also spread into the Northeast Friday night into Saturday.

Showers and thunderstorms will arrive in a weakening state across the interior portions of the Northeast Friday night before a new line of storms develops along the Interstate 95 corridor on Saturday, according to AccuWeather.

These thunderstorms are not expected to produce widespread areas of severe weather, but the strongest storms could be heavy and gusty, according to AccuWeather.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
Friday night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 70. Southwest wind around 7 mph.
Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 91. West wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Light and variable wind becoming north around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.
