NJ Jaywalker Seriously Injured By Car, Police Say

The 62-year-old was flown to Morristown Medical Center to be treated for "serious injuries," according to police.

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A Warren County man was put in the hospital after being hit by a car this weekend.

On Sunday, just before 8:30 p.m., authorities were called to the 600 block of Madison Street in Hackettstown on a report of a pedestrian getting hit by a car.

Authorities discovered that a 62-year-old local man had been hit by a 19-year-old Brooklyn, New York man driving a Mercedes, officials said.

The pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for “serious injuries,” according to police. He was later heli-vacced to Morristown Medical Center for further treatment.

Authorities added that the pedestrian was crossing the street while not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

The Hackettstown Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating the crash, and no criminal charges have been announced at this time.
