NJ Man Held Woman At Knifepoint, Led 40-Mile Chase On I-80: Cops

A New Jersey man was busted after he held a woman at knifepoint on Friday and then led police on a 40-mile chase, police said. A video showed the ordeal as it was transpiring.

Lucciano Pascucci, 27, of Oxford Township was hospitalized after the incident Friday that started with an attempted stabbing at a Warren County apartment complex.

Pascucci was trying to ram police vehicles head-on during the chase, according to nj.com. The chase on I-80 continued into Morris County and then back to Warren County, where Pascucci’s vehicle was finally disabled by police.

Everything began when police were called at 9:37 p.m. Friday for an attempted stabbing at the Cambridge East apartment complex, where Pascucci lives, off Pequest Road in Oxford, accoring to nj.com. A woman who was held at knifepoint was known to Pascucci.

After fleeing the scene, Pascucci allegedly hit the vehicle that had the person he was trying to stab, according to WRNJ. Officers responding to the scene passed the Ford Windstar, driven by Pascucci, which began weaving all over the road and almost hitting cars head on.

The vehicle continued into Knowlton Township and looped back onto Route 46 east and into Oxford Township, and then back onto Route 46 in Hope Township and then on I-80 eastbound, according to WRNJ.

Washington Township police were on the phone with Pascucci during the pursuit, saying he allegedly took pills and was holding a knife to his throat, according to WRNJ. At 10:51 p.m., State Police located Pascucci’s Ford Windstar on I-80 east at Exit 12, where he failed to stop for police.
