NJ Man Who Sexually Assaulted Girlfriend's Daughter, 8, Faces Judge

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A Warren County man who was found to have sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl has been sentenced to prison.

On Wednesday, Kevin Micucci, 39, of Phillipsburg, was sentenced after being found guilty of several charges relating to the sexual abuse of a girl under 13, prosecutors say.

According to court documents, Micucci sexually assaulted the 8-year-old daughter of a girlfriend between 2018 and 2019.

Micucci was indicted in 2021 for the abuse charges, but the indictment was dismissed without prejudice due to a conflict with the victim’s testimony on the timeline of abuse, court documents show.

Due to the indictment being dismissed without prejudice, prosecutors were able to refile, and Micucci was charged with two counts of sexual assault by contact, endangering the welfare of a child, and lewdness.

NJ.com reported that Micucci was employed as a custodian at a Phillipsburg elementary school at the time of the abuse, but school officials said there’s no evidence that any of the abuse occurred on school property.

Micucci was found guilty by trial in February and was sentenced to eight years in prison for the sexual assault by contact conviction and eight years for endangering the welfare of a child.

The two sentences will run concurrently, but Micucci will not be eligible for parole until he serves 85 percent of his sentence, or six years and eight months.
