A woman who was the subject of a noise complaint just didn't want to go quietly.

Police arrived at a home on Ashley Avenue last Thursday at about 6:45 p.m., when they found Gail Tortorella, 47, in a second floor apartment. The woman, Sgt. Darren Tynan said in a release, appeared to be intoxicated.

Tortorella became belligerent with police and was arrested for disorderly conduct, Tynan said. The initial arrest, though, appeared to infuriate Tortorella, Tynan said. She began pulling and kicking with officers, after which she allegedly spit at one patrolman, then kicked him in the groin.

As police got Tortorella downstairs, they said she kicked her neighbor's door on the way out, then allegedly threatened to kill both the neighbor and police officers.

Tortorella was charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault on police, threats, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, Tynan said. The woman did not post $7,500 in bail, police said, and was taken in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
