Pickup Truck Sought in High School Theft
Vehicle and two people were seen on surveillance footage stealing construction materials early Saturday morning.
Police are looking for a dark-colored pickup truck and two individuals who were seen stealing construction equipment from Hackettstown High School over the weekend.
Hackettstown Police released on Wednesday photos from outside the school that show a dark pickup truck with a ladder rack and possible running boards entering the school parking lot at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.
Tynan said the investigation has revealed that two people stole the ladders and construction equipment, which belonged to two companies that have been repairing the school's roof.
A second theft was also reported over the weekend at Hatchery Hill School where recyclable materials were stolen sometime between Friday and Monday, Tynan said. It is not yet known if the two thefts are related, Tynan said.
Anyone with information on the thefts or who may have seen the pickup truck, can contact the Hackettstown Police Department at 908-852-3302.
