Hackettstown Vehicle Accident Reports Now Online with Lexis Nexis E-Crash
The Internet application will make accident reports available online immediately after a police officer posts it.

The Hackettstown Police Department says it has entered into an agreement
with iyeTek, LLC to place traffic accident reports online.
A department release by Sgt. Darren Tynan says the Lexis-Nexis E-Crash Accident Report System was chosen as its traffic accident insurance and citizen request technology.
The Internet-based application was developed to help law enforcement
agencies and insurance companies manage and access traffic accident reports in a more efficient manner.
Through the use of online document management technology, people are now able to find and view an accident report immediately after it has been completed by the officer, according to Tynan, who added that means there will be no more waiting in line or mailing report request forms—which are accessible 24 hours a day.
Tynan said Hackettstown Police chose the Accident Report System because of its features:
* Allow multi-jurisdictional data sharing and searching
* A comprehensive system to facilitate web accessible availability of accident reports for insurance companies, officers and citizens
* Remove the police department from the billing and request fulfillment process
* Provide officers and investigators access to accident information for all agencies on the system.
* Reports are available from work or home, 24 hours a day via the Internet.
* Saves citizens the hassles of driving downtown, paying to park and standing in line.
* Reports are converted to PDF format making them easy to view, save, print and email.
* Finding a report takes only a few seconds.
* Reports are accessible usually within 24 hours of being completed, excluding holidays and weekends.
* Reports cannot be modified, maintaining report integrity.
* Provides clear, high resolution images of each report for optimal viewing and printing.
The system provides police departments with the software and training and charges a convenience fee for this service which is added to the cost of the report.
