'Strategic Planning' Sought by Schools Chief

First open meeting to be held at high school Thursday.

Hackettstown Public Schools Superintendent David Mango only took his post in July 2012, but he's digging his heels in and incorporating the community regarding the future of the district.

In a letter to the community, Mango said:

As Superintendent of Hackettstown Public Schools, it is my pleasure to invite you to be part of our upcoming Strategic Planning process.  All, who are part of our traditionally enriched community, are welcome and encouraged to attend Strategic Planning meetings, whereby a clear vision will be determined outlining specific goals for our school district relative to long range facility plans, student achievement, safety and security, technology, etc.

Using a collaborative process under the guidance of Robynn Meehan and Kathy Winecoff, both facilitators for New Jersey School Boards Association, we will unite to develop a concise plan for both the present and future students of Hackettstown.

Our initial meeting will take place on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Hackettstown High School auditorium.  An overview of the planning process will be presented, touching on specific outcomes from the last Strategic Plan and going forward, several possibilities that are within our reach.  Input at our meetings is necessary which is why the Hackettstown Board of Education and I encourage you to be active participants.  Please join us in making the Hackettstown Public School District the very best it can be.
