Road Work Bids More Than Expected, Mayor Says
$300K allocated for paving, sidewalk project in Hackettstown neighborhood.

Roadwork on East Prospect Street that would repave and restore sidewalks may need some refining, after bids that came in to complete the project were higher than anticipated.
Hackettstown Mayor Maria DiGiovanni said a couple of contractor bids were submitted for the project, but because of the cost of materials, the cost has gone up.
The town received a matching grant from the Department of Transportation in the amount of $150,000–with the town allocating $150,000 of its own funds–in order to complete the project.
