More than 20 students were on the bus when it crashed on Route 22 in Phillipsburg, according to a report citing school officials.

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ — A school bus carrying more than 20 students crashed in Phillipsburg on Tuesday afternoon, prompting authorities to close the eastbound lanes of Route 22, according to a Lehigh Valley Live report.

Phillipsburg Superintendent of Schools Greg Troxell told the publication that 22 first- and second-grade students were on the bus when the crash occurred near Morris Street, about a half-mile from the Route 22 toll bridge into Pennsylvania. A Ford Focus was also involved in the crash.

Troxell said he was unaware of any serious injuries, according to Lehigh Valley Live.
