Schooley's Mtn. Road Down to 1 Lane Beginning Thursday
Construction schedule shortened from three weeks to less than one.

Another road project is set to begin this week one of the area’s busiest roadways, just in time for the school year to begin.
A one-mile stretch of Schooley’s Mountain Road from Newburgh Road to Rt. 182 in Hackettstown will undergo milling and paving beginning on Thursday, reducing travel to just one lane.
Construction is expected to take place Thursday and Friday of this week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week.

The project was originally scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Aug. 27, and projected to last up to three weeks. Construction will run from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
During the construction the road will be reduced to one lane of travel and delays are expected in the area. Both lanes will reopen to motorists at the end of each work day.

Newburgh Road is also closed and will be until 2015 for the replacement of a bridge over the Musconetcong River. A 1.5-mile stretch of Schooley’s Mountain Road on the northern end was repaved earlier this summer between Springtown Road and Mill Road.
