Schools to Open During Former Convention Days
Plan on classes being held Thursday, Friday this week.

With a quick meeting and approval by the Hackettstown Schools Board of Education Monday at 6 p.m., the district will officially open its doors Thursday and Friday, Nov. 8 and 9.
The school calendar originally had those days off from school, as the annual New Jersey Education Association convention was to be held in Atlantic City.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy's destruction along the New Jersey shore-line, the convention was canceled late last week.

Now that Hackettstown has used five inclement weather days, with only four allotted, opening the schools for days originally scheduled to be closed was the right decision according to Superintendent Dave Mango.
Hackettstown Schools will also open their doors for the first time Monday, Nov. 5 after a week-long layoff.
