Screaming Resident Scares Off Budd Lake Intruder

A Budd Lake resident woke up and found an intruder in his living room last week, but yelled and scared the man off, police said.

According to Mount Olive Police, a resident of The Village Green apartment complex woke up and went to his living room where he saw a man standing inside his home with a flashlight Thursday morning at about 4 a.m.

The resident yelled at the intruder, who fled the apartment and into a wooded area behind the complex, police said.

The Morris County Sheriff's Office K9 unit and Mount Olive Police searched the area but did not find the man.

The intruder was described as a while male, about 6-foot-5 who was wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans, police said.
