Teen Lied About Being A Sheriff's Deputy: Hackettstown Police
Police say the teen told them he was a sheriff's deputy during an investigation into a party fight.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A local teenager told police he was a sheriff's deputy to avoid giving officers an ID, Hackettstown police said.
Officers were responding to a large fight at a party on June 30 when they saw a man standing a block away from the fight. The man told police he was at he party and saw the fight.
Police asked for his ID, which he allegedly refused to give, telling officers he was a deputy with the Essex County's Sheriff's Office. Police say they eventually determined the man was 19-year-old David Murray of Columbia.
