Three-Car Crash Leads to Drug Charges for Pa. Teen

Chain-reaction accident occurred last week on Route 182.

A group of bicyclists caused a three-car accident last week on Route 182, Hackettstown Police said.

According to Sgt. Darren Tynan, police responded to the crash last Wednesday shortly after 6:30 p.m., and an investigation determined a 46-year-old Blairstown woman was traveling southbound on Route 182 when bicyclists "began to cross the roadway illegally" in front of her vehicle.

The woman began to break to avoid the collision and she was struck by a 17-year-old boy from Manheim, Pa., Tynan said. The teen's vehicle was then struck by a 32-year-old woman from Allamuchy, Tynan said.

A 19-year-old male passenger in the Pennsylvania teen's vehicle complained of a facial injury and was transported to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.

The 17-year-old boy was found in possession of a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana and a metal marijuana grinder containing suspected marijuana, Tynan said. The teen was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and was released pending a court appearance.
