Town Ready to Vote Despite Sandy's Impact

Polling centers will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Hackettstown.

With so many power outages and fuel shortages devastating the area as a result of Hurricane Sandy’s impact, a major upcoming event has taken a back seat.

The General Election, being held Tuesday, Nov. 6, will have a few wrinkles this year, as towns across New Jersey–including Hackettstown–are still without power in areas, including polling locations.

In Hackettstown, the following buildings serve as polling locations in the municipality’s seven voting districts:

D1: Hackettstown High School
D2: Hatchery Hill School
D3: Moore Street Fire House
D4 & 7: Miller Street Fire House
D5 & 6: Trinity House, Moore Street 

As of Monday morning, all of the town's polling locations were officially with power and expected to run without interruption Tuesday, according to Hackettstown Police.

For voters, ballots will have the choice between Republican Council incumbents Scott Sheldon and William Conforti, who are being opposed by two Democrats, Anthony Olivo and Mary Beth Maciag.
