Two Assaulted In Hackettstown Senior Housing: Police
One of the victims was also arrested for numerous outstanding warrants.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ— A Union man was arrested after he strangled one person and slashed another in Hackettstown Senior Housing, Hackettstown Police said in a statement.
Police say Wolter Andreitchuk, 21, of Union punched and strangled a person in the senior housing complex just after 7 a.m. on Jan. 18. Police did not release the victim's age, name or gender, but said that all three involved were at the housing complex visiting a resident.
Dillan Metz, 20, of Randolph, attempted to stop the attack with a knife. Andreitchuk took the knife and turned it on Metz, slashing Metz' hand, according to police.

Police say Andreitchuk stole $5,000 worth of jewelry and a jewelry box, hiding it inside of a sock in his coat pocket.
The victim was taken to Hackettstown Medical Center for evaluation.

Both Andreitchuk and Metz were arrested.
Andreitchuk was charged with third degree aggravated assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and third degree theft by unlawful taking. Andreitchuk was taken to the Warren County Correction Facility.
Metz was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants, including third degree property theft in Morris County, a municipal court criminal warrant in Dover, Wayne and Mount Olive, and a traffic court warrant in Union. Metz was taken to the Morris County Correctional facility.
Hackettstown Detective Bureau, Hackettstown First Aid and Rescue Squad and St Clare’s Paramedics all assisted at the scene.
