WCCC to Offer Pilates Instructor Certification Training Program This Fall

WASHINGTON, N.J. (July 22, 2015) – Warren County Community College will be offering a Pilates Instructor Certification Program as part of its Continuing Education Healthcare Career Program for the 2015-2016 academic year. Pilates is a multibillion-dollar industry established in the early 20th century and is currently one of the most popular approaches to movement, balance, and toning.

The Pilates Instructor Certification, which is built on the methodology of the DualStar™ Pilates Institute, offers a diverse array of benefits. The program provides mastery in the use of all standard Pilates’ equipment, enables students to design safe, individualized, effective workouts by familiarizing them with basic human anatomy, and teaches students the business practices needed to run a successful studio.

A free informational session for the Program will be held August 17th at 6:00 p.m. located at the Phillipsburg Education Center. Attendees can call 908-835-2333 to RSVP.

WCCC’s Pilates Instructor Certification Program is appropriate for a wide range of people. Experienced Pilates instructors, Pilates enthusiasts with no prior teaching experience, physical therapists, students majoring in exercise science, dance, equestrian training, or a similarly physical field of study, can all benefit from completing the program. In addition, Pilates Instructor certification can also beneficial to massage therapists as an additional source of revenue.

This intensive program of study, which includes classroom and studio instruction, begins September 12th. Courses include:

  • “Introduction to Mat Pilates,”
  • “Mat 1 Pilates,”
  • “Mat 2 Pilates,”
  • “Introduction to Pilates Apparatus,”
  • “Pilates Reformer Certification,”
  • “Pilates Cadillac Tower Certification,”
  • “Pilates Chair Certification,” and
  • “Exero ™ System Certification.”

Classes are held at the Warren County Community College Phillipsburg Campus and the Hunterdon Pilates Center in Clinton. Tuition is $7000.00, which includes two semesters of training totaling 476 hours. Scholarships and other sources of funding are available, in addition to WCCC’s interest-free payment plan.

To get started with the Pilates Instructor Certification Program, prospective students should call Dianne Czar at 908-835-2333. Students will need to provide a copy of their GED or HS diploma, a copy of their college transcript or sufficient AccuPlacer placement test results, and a statement of health from their doctor. Students must also be insured and have CPR AED and First Aid certification.
