WCCC Partners with Fit4Basic to offer 10 week Pre Police Academy

WCCC Offers additional Public Safety Courses this fall

Warren County Community College is proud to announce a partnership with Fit4Basics Police Academy (F4B) to offer new and exciting certification and training opportunities in the public safety field beginning the Fall 2019 term.

Six new courses will be offered through the partnership. Open to the public, the courses require participants to be at least 18 years of age and hold a High School Diploma/GED. Options rage from a 10-week Law Enforcement Prep Course for those interested in attending a police academy basic training to a Cybersecurity Certificate program to prepare students for a range of career paths.

The Cybersecurity Certificate allows students to gain a critical understanding of the technological needs, threats, and weaknesses in cybersecurity, a modern and constant concern. This course will enhance knowledge and provide the tools and protocols needed to navigate, use, and manage security technologies, as well as gain insight into the legal, social, and political dynamics of the cyber universe.

Grow skills to better recover from, prevent, and respond to man-made and natural disasters in a multi-jurisdictional and multifunctional environment. Many students build on this foundation to develop or enhance their careers.

The two-week N.E.C.I. 911/EMD course, which includes a CPR-AED Certificate and State of New Jersey Telecommunications Certificate upon its successful completion, provides the basic knowledge, skills, and experience to understand the functional operation of an emergency communications system, and their role and responsibilities within the emergency communications system.

The Crime Scene Forensics Course is designed for students who wish to develop knowledge and skills in the field of forensics, and become law-enforcement professionals at the Local, State, or Federal levels.

Upon successful completion, a certificate is presented by the College.

The most extensive offering from this new partnership is the 10-week Pre-Police Academy Program. Students will complete a grueling program designed to prepare them for the demanding physical, mental, and instructional experience commonly associated with basic training at their respective academies. Accomplished under the strict supervision of highly experienced instructors, F4B will provide each student with all the tools needed to successfully complete the demanding requirements mandated by the NJ Police Training Commission. Includes EMD/911 Dispatch and CPR Certification.

The new courses will begin in the Fall 2019 semester. All courses will be held at the Phillipsburg Education Center at 445 Marshall St., Phillipsburg.
