$60K Stolen From Camden County Restaurant, 2 Wisconsin People Charged: Police

Police say the pair stole food, alcohol, money, and electronic equipment, and also caused "excessive damage" inside the restaurant.

OAKLYN, NJ — Two people from Wisconsin damaged a Camden County Mexican restaurant and stole $60,000 worth of items and cash from it, officials said.

Those people, 47-year-old Theron Brusch and 29-year-old Tori Stevens of Pleasant Prairie, have been charged with one count each of third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, and fourth-degree criminal mischief according to Oaklyn police.

Brusch and Stevens broke into Los Jalapeños Bar and Grill at 900 White Horse Pike on the evening of Sept, 21, 2022 according to police. They are accused of taking food, alcohol, and electronic equipment as well as cash, Oaklyn police said.

Brusch and Stevens also caused "excessive damage" inside the restaurant, and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office Crime Scene Unit helped process evidence, said police.

In a post Sept. 22, Los Jalapeños said thieves had taken their point-of-sale and credit card processing equipment.

"Thank God. We are safe," the post reads. "Everything else is just material stuff."

Bellmawr Police helped Oaklyn Police during the three-month investigation process, the department said.

"Their investigation was crucial in the identification of both defendants," police said.

Brusch and Stevens are currently in custody at the Philadelphia County, Pa. Correctional Facility on unrelated charges, police said.
