80-Year-Old NJ Woman Stabbed In Grocery Store Parking Lot: Prosecutor

Altirik Higgins, 40, of Philadelphia, was charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses in connection with the attack, authorities said

NEW JERSEY - A Pennsylvania man was charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses in the stabbing of an 80-year-old New Jersey woman in a grocery store parking lot on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Altirik Higgins, 40, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody after he stabbed the Audubon woman multiple times as she was loading groceries into her car in the parking lot of the Audubon Acme (608 West Nicholson Road), Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Audubon Chief of Police Thomas J. Tassi announced.

The victim was taken to Cooper University Hospital where she remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Higgins is currently lodged in the Camden County Correctional Facility.
