Afternoon Shooting Kills Man, 21, In Camden: Authorities

CAMDEN, NJ — A Friday afternoon shooting that killed a man in Camden is under investigation, authorities said.

Jajuan Flores, 21, was identified as the victim. The city resident died shortly after he was brought to the hospital, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO).

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation just after 2:30 p.m. around the 2500 block of South 8th Street. They found the victim — later identified as Flores — suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene, the CCPO said.

Police brought Flores to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 3:05 p.m., authorities said.

The investigation remains active, with no arrests announced as of this writing.
