WESTMONT, NJ — Bricco Coal Fired Pizza in Westmont placed 45th in ItalianFood.net's recently published list of 50 Top Pizza Places in the United States.
ItalianFood.net's list includes pizza places in (perhaps) better-known pizza cities such as New York City and Chicago.
Bricco Coal Fired Pizza's website describes a pizza-making process that likely explains its ranking.
The staff uses aged, hand-tossed dough, a 1,000-degree coal-fired oven and a customer's choice of toppings to "create the most delicious flavors on a thin crust and char them to perfection."
Bricco Coal Fired Pizza is the only pizza place south of Interstate 195 to make ItalianFood.net's list.
Jersey City's Razza Pizza Artigianale is the only other Garden State pizza place on the list. It came in fourth.
