Deadly Shooting Leads To 5-Car Crash In South Jersey: Officials

Multiple people were also injured.

PENNSAUKEN, NJ — A man is dead after he was found shot in his car on Tuesday night, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.

At around 7 p.m., officers with the Camden County Police Department responded to the 3300 block of Westfield Avenue for a "ShotSpotter" activation.

The technology acts as an acoustic gunfire detection software that works with sensors to detect, locate, and alert police to areas of concern.

When they arrived, officers found multiple shell casings and an unoccupied vehicle that had been shot.

Minutes later, the Pennsauken Police Department responded to a five-vehicle crash at the intersection of Drexel Avenue and Route 130.

One of the vehicles involved was also hit by gunfire, authorities said.

The driver, Izaiah Minzy, 36, of Westville, was shot and taken to Cooper University Hospital.

He was declared dead at around 8:10 p.m.

Another six people who were in the other vehicles were left with minor injuries.

No arrests have been made.
