VOORHEES, NJ — A 63-year-old pharmacist was charged with illegally distributing oxycodone in South Jersey, the United States Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey said.
Charles Suh, a former pharmacist in Voorhees, was charged with unlawfully dispensing a controlled substance.
According to the indictment, Suh gave out the drug on 15 occasions between June and November 2021 despite the fact that he knew, or should have known, that the prescriptions were forged.
He faces a maximum of 20 years in jail per count if convicted.
Suh's wife, So Yong Suh, 62, was also charged in a separate case for making false statements on her application to become a United States citizen.
On an "N-400" naturalization application, Suh said she had never been arrested or convicted of a crime.
Applicants are required to swear under oath that their information is complete, true, and correct.
Suh was arrested at least four times, officials said.
She also submitted that she never gave false or misleading information to the United States.
Prosecutors said she failed to share a civil suit settlement in a bankruptcy proceeding. The proceeding was dismissed because she did not reveal the settlement.
So Yong faces a maximum of five years in jail if convicted of making false statements.
Both Suhs made their initial court appearances in federal District Court on May 27.
