HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 28-year-old man was arrested after participating in inappropriate sexual acts in front of minors on multiple occasions throughout the area, the Haddon Township Police Department said.
Axel Novaberganza, of Camden, was charged with three counts of second-degree luring, three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
On August 11, at around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of 602 W. Cuthbert Blvd. next to the Target after three minors, ages 15 and 16, reported that a man was carrying out a "lewd sexual act."
The man exposed himself, conducted a sexual act, and motioned for the group to walk over to him and said, "Come over."
The juveniles immediately left and reached out to police.
The man then left the area in a red 2009 Toyota Corolla.
He was later found by detectives, taken to Haddon Township Police Headquarters, and then to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
Two earlier reports of similar acts in the area of Newton Creek, near Lees Lane, have also now been tied to Novaberganza, according to officials.
On June 21, three minors, ages 15 and 16, reported a similar situation involving a man who was acting in that manner and tried to get them to approach him.
On July 14, an adult noticed a man participating in this style of act and reported it to police.
In these cases, the man revealed his buttocks and anus before "digitally penetrating himself" while others could see.
He was also charged with three counts of second-degree luring, three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact for the June 21 case, and one count of lewdness for the July 14 report.
Detectives believe there are additional witnesses or victims who may not have yet contacted authorities regarding similar behavior in Haddon Township or anywhere else in the region.
Anyone who may have seen him, been near him, or observed anyone acting in similar behavior is asked to contact (856) 854-1176 (ext. 4847) or email Detectives@HaddonTwpPolice.com.
This includes those who recall seeing a car that may have been the red 2009 Toyota Corolla in those areas.
