Atlantic City Electric Restoration Nearly Complete
The electric company's customers were nearly fully restored on Tuesday

Nearly all Atlantic City Electric customers who saw their power knocked out in storms on both Tuesday and Saturday had their power back as of Tuesday morning.
There were still 334 outages in Gloucester County, the area hit hardest by Tuesday’s devastating storm. In Atlantic County, there were still 105 outages, but there were less than 5 outages reported in Camden, Burlington, Cape May and Cumberland counties. There were 19 in Salem County, and none in Ocean County.

Customers suffered massive outages during Tuesday night’s devastating storm, and the recovery process was further complicated by Saturday’s storms, which resulted in 16,000 new outages.
Atlantic City Electric didn’t distinguish between those who lost power on Tuesday and those who lost power on Saturday. At the height of Tuesday’s storm, there were 280,000 Atlantic City Electric customers without power, which is more than there were during the 2012 derecho and Superstorm Sandy.

The recovery process has taken nearly a week due to the amount of damage done during Tuesday’s storm, officials said. There was no estimated cost for damage suffered so far.
Officials remind residents that weakened trees and limbs can continue to fall days later and cause new outages. Atlantic City Electric will be ready to respond to these, and urges customers who experience these outages to report them promptly.
Customers can report outages at www.atlanticcityelectric.com or by calling 1-800-833-7476 and follow the voice prompts. Customers’ reports are vital to Atlantic City Electric’s restoration efforts because they help the company identify the location of outages more quickly. Each household should report an outage; a neighbor’s call will not indicate that you are out of power as well.
Atlantic City Electric also recommends that when reporting an outage, customers request a call back, which means that the company will contact customers to ensure power has been restored. The call back process helps Atlantic City Electricduring the area-based restoration process to locate outages that may be specific to customers’ homes, such as an issue with the service wire to an individual house.
