Attacker Charged After Stabbing At South Jersey Shopping Center

A woman was found lying on the ground in a grocery store parking lot.

AUDUBON, NJ — A 23-year-old was arrested on Tuesday night after a stabbing in a grocery store parking lot, the Audubon Police Department said.

William J. McCallin, of Camden, was charged with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

At around 9:50 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of the ACME supermarket for a report of assault.

There, they found a 23-year-old woman lying on the ground, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Officials gave her medical aid at the scene before she was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

McCallin was found at the scene and taken into custody without conflict.

He attacked the woman with a knife after a disagreement, according to authorities, and was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility to await a detention hearing in Superior Court.
