CamCo Prosecutor Breaking the Law? Where's the Coverage?
The lack of official information on the police activity and arrests made last week in Collingswood is disturbing and illegal, as is the lack of news coverage.

Last week, a tactical operation occurred near the Heights of Collingswood and several arrests were made, .
Under New Jersey law, authorities have 24 hours to release information after arrests are made, according to the Patch article. As of Tuesday, however, there has been nothing.
According to the Patch article: "Jason Laughlin, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office, said no details would be forthcoming because an investigation is 'ongoing.'"

I'm glad Patch is covering this interesting event, because it appears nobody else in the region is. Here's a Google search for "Heights of Collingswood" news - notice there's nothing but Patch there. Nothing from "South Jersey's newspaper," the Courier-Post. Nothing from the Philly papers that try to traffic in South Jersey once in a while. Nothing.
Were residents in the area at risk? Was this some kind of organized activity that might still put them at risk? In the post-9/11 world, it's easy to assume that when arrests are made but no information is forthcoming that there might have been some kind of terrorist activity. Is that the case?

The public has a right to know. It deserves better from its public servants and from the media outlets that are supposed to be keeping an eye on the authorities.
